The attached photos are of our wonderful little girl we call Lizzie short of course for Elizabeth because she came from Elizabethtown NC. We expected Lizzie to come to our home to
pass away in comfort and peace. Well... the old girl turned out to be quite young. Only about 5 years not 10+. In spite of having worms, bad teeth, over bred, coccidia, extremely under
weight (and she had gained some before she came to us) and heart worm (which we are still battling and winning) this wonderful dog is thriving and is so loving and caring.
I wish you could all see her now in real life but seeing how you can't check out some photos of Lizzie with her new brothers. Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year and my God Bless you and help you with all your wonderful work!

I would like to share our success story. On 12/18/08 I adopted "Scruffy" from Bladen County Shelter in North Carolina through your website. We have since re-named "Scruffy" to "Odie".
In just 3 days, we have already taught him how to sit. He loves his bones & toys & has adapted very well to his new home. He is a very loving & smart dog & we are so happy that we saved his life.
When I saw his profile on 12/16/08 he had only 2 days before he would have been euthanized. I took one look into those eyes & sent an email. Within an hour of the email, I received a phone
call & in less than 48 hours, he was home for the holidays.
He's a great dog & if it wasn't for your website, he wouldn't have found his forever home just in time for Christmas. You are doing a
wonderful job by allowing the entire country an opportunity to save a dog's life. Thank you from me & Odie!!

Late one night I was on your site when I came across the most adorable pup (that we immediately started calling Cupcakes) scheduled for euthanasia in 11 days. I am in Washington state and
she was in Texas. I messaged my mother in law, Mary, who lives in Texas and we discussed our options to help her. After looking at a map we found out she was over
fourteen hours away from Cupcakes, one way. We phoned the shelter the next morning and to our dismay her euthanasia date was bumped up and she had three days left! We paid
her adoption fee to hold her there while I tried to organize a relay team. Days went by and while we had generous offers to drive some of the distance, Mary and her husband decided
to make the drive themselves as we worried in the time it took us to get her, another dog would be euthanized that could have taken her kennel. Mary and her husband Wes adopted the
dog who now has a Labrador sister and all the love she could ever want! The in laws are coming for Christmas and I am so glad I get to meet this little pup we saved. She is truly home for the holidays!
Dogs In Danger is so phenominally important. Without you we never would have found Cupcakes and she would have been put down. She is a wonderful and well behaved dog who got a second
chance because of your site. Thank you for caring so much, and have a wonderful holiday season!

I volunteer Saturdays at Maricopa County Animal ’Care’ and Control. I do adoptions, and also scan the strays,
for the ones I know are adoptable, but not by County standards. I spotted this little guy 11/22. Left front leg lame.
No chance. Pulled him 11/26; straight to vet. @ $500 later, his three fractures were set. He is now cleared to fly to
his new home in PA, but Continental said no to an injured dog.
Eli Scamper will wait, with his other rescued siblings here, until fly day.

I saw Bella on this website last Friday (9/19). She was in Jasper County Animal Shelter in Rensselaer,IN. I called a few hours later when they opened and the lady said no one had
shown any interest in her. Well the next day I decided I was going to adopt her and drove 1.5hrs each way to save her from being put to sleep. She was very very timid at first but is slowly coming out
of her shell. She absolutely loves my other dogs and is starting to get used to everyone in the house.

In January my daughter lost her dog to cancer. I advised her of your site which I found thru one of the Canine diabetes sites that I frequent. In
February, she found a dog she thought she would like to rescue over 4 hours away in Franklin, Kentucky. She made the arrangements with the
shelter to adopt this stray. I had a hysterectomy on Friday and we made the 4 hour drive on Saturday to retrieve this dog. I
would like you to know how worth while that trip was. The dog we rescued is undoubtedly the sweetest, neatest, and best dog any one could want.
Dahli a dalmation pit bull mix is loved by many. Having the
pit in her did make me apprehensive especially not knowing her background but this dog is fantastic. She bonded quickly with my daughter but is still loveable with a majority (but not all) of the
people she comes in contact with. 99% of the people she comes in contact with (and that is a lot because we manage a softball complex in Cincinnati Ohio with over 350 teams that play each week) want
to make her their own. We still miss Loo (who my daughter took from a friend who she felt was not treating this wonderful dog well enough) to this day, I had my doubts about Dahli being able to fill
Loopy's shoes (ok how about paw prints) but Dahli has made her own place in our hearts. This loveable 23 lb mixed breed could have found 100 homes by now and to think it is possible that with out
your website she would be just one of the millions of dogs euthanized each day is heart breaking.

Hello! I just wanted to share with ya'll how happy I am that I came across your website. I was scrolling through Craigslist one night, and noticed a little puppy in Borger,Tx. He was so sweet and
I just had to rescue him. We named him T-Bone,and he is sucha delight in our family. My children and I could not give him more love and attention. I am grateful to the people who give their time
to finding these sweet pups new homes. I have told many many people this story and have suggested your website to them. Again, thank you! We love our sweet pup!

Hi my name is Jenifer and I recently found and adopted a dog that I found on your website. Her name is Autumn and I found her at the Tulare county animal shelter in Visalia, CA. I live in
Portland, OR. but when I saw her picture I knew I must bring her into our family. The process was easy and Michelle at the shelter was great every step of the way. I Just would like to let
people know how easy it is to adopt from your site no matter where you live and the cost was very reasonable. I have attached a couple of pictures of Autumn in her new happy, forever home.

When I saw "8" it was love at first site. I had always been intrigued by the Indigenous dogs of the Carolinas and here was a
stunning puppy longing for a home and in Danger of being put to sleep.
I was hesitant at first, when I emailed since they required a deposit with not much information but I called shelter volunteer
Sylvia and spoke to her and she was a "True Southern Belle" on the
phone and you could feel the warmth and love she had for the animals. She explained the Bladen County animal control and their efforts.
She answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable about the whole procedure.
I'm so glad I took the chance and got "8". She is my constant shadow and keeps me company while I endure chemotherapy. She knows when I don't feel well and stays right
with me she snuggles with me in bed and takes my blues away. I can hardly believe if I had not taken the chance my darling "8" wouldn't be with us. It's such a shame more people
don't take a chance but I'm going to try and make a difference. I have told Sylvia & Marissa I will help them place as many as I can. I have always been a show dog kind of person since
that's what I do along with a grooming/boarding but this little dog who needed me so much has made her way so deep into my heart that I want to help and give as much back to other
dogs in need as "8" has given to me in love and companionship.

Hello from Maisy. I was adopted into a loving family. My family tells me that I was listed on the Dogs in Danger list and that I only had 7
more days to live. They said that their boxer just passed away from cancer and that they were looking for a new dog. They looked everywhere. They stopped
by the shelter where I was at but whenever they stopped it was closed. Well then they said they were about ready to pick up one of the daughters and the other
daughter was in the car with her mother about ready to pick her other daughter up and the daughter said "Can we stop at
the dog shelter just to see if there are any dogs?" Well the mother was like "fine we can stop, but we are not getting a dog." Well they both go in and I just
started jumping and was saying pick me pick me. They came up to my cage and the daughter was like ohh mom she is so cute. Then they went to see the other
dogs but I always kept my eyes on them and so did the daughter.
Whenever I looked at her she would look right at me and smile. Well they looked at all
the dogs and the daughter just kept saying I love Maisy (Maisy is my name). They saw one other dog that the mother like and they couldn't decided. The
mother was like fine we can get a dog. The daughter was like I want Maisy. So when I heard that I just got so excited. Soon after that I was out of my
cage and the daughter was playing with me. I kept going to the door but the daughter was like no we can go out there in a second but right now we have to
stay in here. Soon the Worker at the shelter told my new family all about me. The worker said about a month ago We found Maisy tied up on the pole right
in front of the shelter. So after that I was in the car and ready to go. When we picked up the other daughter she was so suprised. She just hugged all over
me. I love my family. I sleep with the daughter that picked me out every night. She said that it is like I am thanking her for picking me and getting me out of
that place.

I would love to share OUR dogsindanger.com story.
My name is Stacey and I live in ND with my old crabby dog, Elvis. One day after being up all night on call for the ER where I work I decided to click on a website my sister
had sent me months ago. I said to myself "DO NOT LOOK!" but I looked. I am from the midwest and had a weird feeling I needed to click on Tennessee for adoption.
WHY? I do not know. The page would not load on my computer and instead of clicking on another state I sat and reloaded the page 7 times. I could not explain it, but I KNEW
something was drawing me to that page. After several minutes of colorful language aimed at my computer screen the page came up. There were 4 dogs on the first page that were too
small for my family and yet I clicked on page 2. THERE HE WAS. Now, back up for a minute. I had spent 4 months researching rescue of a bullmastiff and was on EVERY
bullmastiff rescue site. I was trying to find the dog I wanted for a price I could afford. INSTEAD...THere was Victor (aka. Marley, as he will now be referred to as). There was this big,
dumb, ugly dog in a kennel SCREAMING out my name. I clicked on page 3. Went back to page one. Turned off my computer and said "not my type of mutt".
Came back, logged on...saw his eyes calling my name. Turned the computer back off. Thought about it. Said "NOPE! He's too far away" He has 15 hours left.
Went to bed. Woke up at 2 a.m. Looked at his photo. I could not explain it, but he was MY DOG! This big ugly awkward starving dog was MY DOG!
I woke up the next day and called. Thank GOD there was a rescue willing to pick him up, transport him to vet, and get him his shots. He spent over a week at the vet clinic getting
cleared for transport due to his numerous health issues. Everytime they mentioned a cost I thought "I could be buying a purebred! (not that I would EVER buy from a breeder)" But I
couldn't send him back to death row.
Fast Forward. My mom and I went to pick up Marley from the airport thanks to Kelly and the rescue group who transported him. I was nervous. WHAT HAD I DONE!?!?!? The whole
way my mother was complaining that I bought a dog I hadn't met. I thought, BUT HE CALLED OUT MY NAME! When we got to the airport everyone in the animal area was braggin
about what an awesome dog I had! My mom not only fell in love with him, but fed him 4 WHOPPERS FROM BK! (1 of which was mine, 2 which were his!) We took him to Petco to buy
him a harness and treats and he was a delight! He was dirty gray when we got him with sores all over his body. He was skinny and sickly but he KNEW he was saved. How do I know this?
The first 20 miles of the 70 miles home he sat in the back seat nervous. At mile 21 he climbed into the front seat and licked my face all the way home! I could barely drive I was crying so hard.
Marley (after Bob Marley cuz of his personality) is the BEST money I have ever spent. I have numerous friends BEGGING to buy him. He KNOWS he was saved. He is so grateful and
shows it everyday. The first day was rough for him since he got 8 baths to get his gray to be a golden brown. He slept on his food bowl for nearly a week before he realized he was
guaranteed another meal. He kisses me every second he's around me and now has his own treats and blanket.
I cannot tell you how happy I am that Marley found me. That fate brought us together. He completed our family and is the BEST dog in the world. Mind you, I have to feed him
special food cuz he was so starved when they found him his teeth all fell out, but he is now fat, happy and me and Elvis's new best friends.
If you read this and you debate on a rescue dog, let me tell you this. THEY KNOW you've rescued them and they will spend every day making it up to you. His ulcers have
healed, his coat is healthy, his is gaining weight, and he LOVES to be cuddled. NO PRICE could ever make that up, and no breeder dog will ever know how grateful it feels to be finally
HOME. Marley knows he's home. He's home forever. ANd I'm already waiting to get another to add to our ever growing family.

I wanted to let you know that Candra is doing wonderfully. She's very smart and attentive. I can't begin to tell you how she has taken to us and has US trained. My Uncle stays with her
most of the day and he was telling me that Candra asks him to let her out several times a day. He was wondering if maybe she had a problem and needed to go to the vet. I said
Uncle I'm with her all weekend and she doesn't ask me to go out that often. I said Uncle she has you trained doesn't she? I'm sure she just gets bored and wants to go check out HER yard.
She chases the squirrels and watches the birds. She's a very loving baby. She has brought us a lot of joy. Thank You Dogs In Danger!

Here is one that didn't get put to sleep. Found on the streets of Chandler AZ. Survived Parvo, Valley Fever that went into her spine and shoulder, 2 dehydrations, a urinary infection all at 10 to 12 weeks
old weighing 4.5 lbs. Talk about grit. She is a delight and makes me laugh every day. She has tripled her weight, is in her third size of diapers and will be getting a second set of wheels. She is
growing out of the first set. Some people would like to see her become a therapy dog for people with disabilities.

We found our beautiful girl on your site in the tri-cities animal shelter. We live in Bothell WA but made special trip to go see her. We
went and got Annie on March 25th, 2008, the day before she was scheduled to be put down. She so so sweet and loving and the best companion
for my husband and I and our other dog Teddy, 9yr old border collie mix, whom we've had since he was a pup... he loves his new sister.
I wished I could have adopted all the dogs that were in danger. I highly recommend (and have to people) to check out your site first when
choosing to adopt a pet.

I wanted to let you know how things were going with the dog that we adopted on March 26. Her ID number in the pound was 413. We named her
Winnie and she's the greatest dog ever!
The vet determined that she's about one year old, so we've decided that her birthday is on St. Patrick's day to make it easy to remember...
We just finished up an obedience course at a local dog school. She didn't finish at the top of her class or anything, but she did very well.
She now knows lots of commands and she's very easy to train because she's so smart. She's still a very mellow dog overall, as long as she
gets enough exercise!
She has great house manners. She was already housebroken when we got her from you and she's never chewed on anything
she'll go after laundry if it's on the floor, but that's it). One thing that we do need to work on is barking. I think you're right about her
maybe having some hound in her because she's quite the talker. She's always barking or whining. I think the crying could possibly be a form of
separation anxiety, but it's getting better all the time. We're calling her a "Pitador Retriever".
Winnie is very wary of new people but we're seeing improvements every day. She barks at everyone who walks into the house, but will run away
if they try to pet her. She calms down within half an hour and is just a lamb. She's very gentle and has never bitten or snapped at anyone.
She's very affectionate and she follows us around the house wherever we go. She gives lots and lots of kisses.
Winnie is a great dog and we're so happy with her. It's hard to believe that someone would willingly give her up to the pound... Thank you for
all of your help with adopting our dog. She's a real gem! I wanted to let you know that we're all very happy and she's doing great!

I just wanted to say thank you. As difficult as it is to look at your web-site, I was able to rescue Zapper (old name Skippy A04214567) from the Tri Cities Animal Shelter this weekend.
Zapper was scheduled for euthanasia on 5/11/08. I wasn't sure I would be able to to make the 3.5 hr trip (one way) this weekend. The shelter was very helpful and were willing to hold him
until next weekend when I knew I could make it out. My family and I decided we would make a commitment to Zapper (and each other) even though we hadn't met him yet. Luckily I was
able to change my schedule to get him this weekend. I was up at 5am sat in order to be at the shelter soon after they opened. Zapper is a year old boarder collie mix. timid and smart. He is a
wonderful little dog. He had been at the shelter since Feb 14th. Everyday he shows us a little more of that shy personality as he realizes we are there to stay and he can trust us. The best
part was watching him run in his new yard (probably the first time since Feb 14). The look on his face was sheer joy. Thank you again for putting us in touch with the dogs that truly need our help.

A few months ago, my daughter and I adopted an Australian Shepherd mix from the shelter. My daughter saw him on the website and decided that we should rescue him.
When we got him, she was a little unsure of him, but he cuddled with her and loved to be treated like a big baby. When she would leave the room, he would run around and bark
until she came back so we took him with us when we went riding. We ended up naming him Shep, but we added the –py because he liked it.(Lol) When it came time to place him in a home,
we had a person interested in him, but we were very careful finding him a home. When she came to look at him, she sat down and he came over, laid belly up and she rubbed his belly for
like 20 mins. We get updates from her every couple of weeks and so far we have heard that he loves water and swimming, he sleeps in her room on her bed, “herds her company around
until they are in the places that he wants them,” he is coming around to her partner, as he does not like to be around males(he is afraid of them) so that is good that he is coming so nicely,
she is going to be sending more pics soon. We can’t wait, we are happy that he is with loving people who will love him and spoil him and that he is doing well!

I just wanted to thank you for saving so many dogs. On August 28th we adopted "King" (shelter name Doe Joe) on his last day from the Carrollton Animal Shelter in
Carrollton Texas. King has brought us so much love and joy. We can not imagine live with out him. King joined Joey a fifteen year old Corgi Mix. They play non stop.
Thanks again for helping bring us King. Please keep saving those dogs. Together we can make a difference.

His name is Harry. That is what they told me at Heard and what I still call him. I brought Harry home with me on 9-22-07 and he's barely left my
side since then. When he had to stay overnight at the vet to be neutered and get his
shots I missed him terribly. I was as glad to see him the next day as he was to see me. Harry
is a very good boy. He is house trained, good with cats and other dogs, heels perfectly on a
leash, and doesn't destroy things or get into the garbage. I can't imagine why anyone would
have given him up. He is the perfect example of why you should adopt a shelter pet.

I saw Tess on DogsInDanger.com who was from Tulare County Animal Control in Visalia CA and just had to have her. After many days of working on shipping her to
Canada and with the combined effort with Michelle (who may I add is very commited to her job and gives so much) Tess is safe and loved very much in her new forever home.

Pirate had a long trip to his forever home. Pirate boarded a plane in Albuquerque New Mexico on Tuesday April 29. He flew into Dallas,Texas and then to Baltimore Washington Airport.
He is now having the time of his life with his sisters in Ellicott City, Maryland. What a treasure to find on the Dogs In Danger Site.Thanks,Thanks,Thanks!

I am and always will be an animal person. Your site brings tears to my eyes, but yet I look everyday. I heard about your website from a local radio show last year.
I go on everyday to see what shelters in my area have dogs listed and surprisingly, there aren't a whole lot in my area (I live in WI). Well, in February, I was driving to TN to pick
up one of my horses who a friend of mine was working with. I happened to check her zip code and was heartbroken with the amount of dogs that came up.
I have 2 older black labs and was definitely not in the market for a third dog. But I found Sonic from McLean Animal Shelter in KY on the site. He was a black lab with a very sad story. I told myself that he
would get adopted, but I'd watch him through my trip and if he didn't I would pick him up on my way home.
Now granted he was definitely out of my way, but I would make the trip. Well, I checked on Monday (I was leaving Wednesday) and he was still there. So I called and asked about him. My biggest concern was how he'd be with my 2 little kids (5 and 2) and
my elderly dogs. He wasn't neutered or with shots. The clinic got him in on Tuesday for neutering and shots and a heartworm test! I was thrilled! I picked him up Wednesday morning and
my girlfriend that I was with, also adopted a cat from the shelter. So we saved 2 lives that day. Sonic has been such a joy.
We believe he was abused by a man because he was terrified of my husband at first, but the submissive peeing gets better everyday and now they're in manner classes and doing wonderfully. Sonic is a gem with my kids and my other dogs. Every day I
look in his eyes and he gives me a big lick. I know he knows what I did for him. And I'd do it all again. I'm always looking on the site and telling people about the dogs out there. I know I
can't save them all, but I sure can try! :)

Red and Brandon came from the Elizabethtown pound. We met Sylvia Kim half way there and still it was an endless drive. Both dogs were terrified and skinny, dirty and full of worms,
heartworm positive and pretty unplacable. Red went to a rescue in NJ but was aggressive and so they sent him back. At the vet, we found out he had the worst ear infection the vet ever
saw and was in so much pain that's why he growled if you went near his head. Brandon stayed in North Carolina because he hid in the kennel and crawled on his belly. He tried to hide
and was afraid of phones, tv, sirens, vacuums, the dark, the light, just everything.
Now it is 7 months later and both dogs are well adjusted, gleamingly healthy, and full of fun. I kept Brandon, my beautiful sleek black brindle mountain cur, and my daughter has Red,
now named THE PRINCE and he glistens golden red and is beautiful. He and Brandon had a reunion last weekend at a family dinner, and they were so glad to see their old
cagemate. They played and ate and played some more. Then they slept side by side. Truly a success story.

Prizzy was at Caswell County, NC shelter in Yanceyville. She was heartworm positive and bound to be PTS without the Dogs in Danger website.
A caring college student emailed me about Prizzy to let me know she was in danger (she had seen her listing on Dogs In Danger). I do dachshund
rescue and immediately contacted the shelter to tell them not to put her to sleep! Less than 24 hours later Prizzy was snuggling in my bed with my
other dachshunds and happily safe from being euthanized.
Prizzy goes tomorrow to be spayed and will start her heartworm treatment ~ and then will be adopted out. Thanks for letting us know about Prizzy
and getting the word out about her! She is safe because of your site.

We saw “Ben Kasey” (now just “Casey”) from Livingston PD/Merced County Animal Control on your website last week,
and couldn’t believe that someone hadn’t immediately snapped up such a cute dog, never mind that he only had a few
days left before euthanasia. We drove 2 hours from the Bay Area and happily adopted the little guy yesterday.
His personality is great! Hard to believe he had been on the streets. He is already a lifelong pack member with
our big galoot of a shelter Dog Che and our rescued Italian Greyhound Skittles. You guys provide a great (and
unfortunately necessary) service – keep up the good work!

To start things off, My fiance and I would just like to thank Dogs in Danger for everything they are doing, keep it up!
My fiance is in the military and he just served a year in Afghanistan. We were talking about getting a dog for a couple
months because we knew we would have a place of our own when he came home. Chad had decided he wanted to find a boxer or a
boxer mix puppy. So, I started to look on petfinder for Boxer's or Boxer puppies. We had found a few, but they were all so
expensive and would not approve us to adopt because he was active military, even though we had made arrangements if he had to
deploy again, what to do with the dog (he would live with Chad's parents who already have a 2 year old Jack Russell & a huge backyard!)
Anyway, we were getting frustrated, and I came across Dogs in Danger. We started looking around, and I wanted to adopt every dog I saw.
Then, we saw the puppy we would eventually get. My fiance was home for his R&R in Missouri and I was still in North Carolina. Chad was
flying back the next day, and called up the lady listed under his name. She gave us a little description about him, and told him he
had a sister. She said the reason a lot of the dogs weren't adopted from that shelter was because they were only open from 8am to 11am.
The next day, Chad woke up around 7 and drove about an hour and a half to the shelter. When he got there, he asked the dog warden if
they had the puppy listed on DID. They said they weren't sure, but Chad still went back there to look anyway. He found the puppy near the
puppy pen. He was wet, depressed looking and scared, but Chad went over to him and said "hey buddy..you wanna go home?"
So he brought the guy back to his cage, and asked him about the pup. The warden told us they were probably going to euthanize him because
they had found his sister dead that morning in the cage with him...and they thought she had died of Parvo. When I called Chad that morning
after I had gotten out of class, he told me the puppy (that we now call Huck) was exposed to Parvo. I got off the phone with him and called
all of the Vet's offices in Fayetteville. I scheduled an appointment for the next morning because he wasn't showing any of the signs YET.
As soon as he got home, he threw up...a lot. I called the Vet back up and told the receptionist that he had thrown up a significant amount
and asked if we could bring him in. The receptionist said yes. He had tested positive for Parvo and obviously worms. We started him on
Parvo treatment right away, and dropped about 700 dollars for 5 days of treatment. Luckily, our little guy was better by the 5th day and
we were able to bring him home!
He's doing GREAT!! He has gotten all of his puppy shots and was just vaccinated for Rabies last weekend. He's started his heartworm medicine,
and he has gained 7 pounds. He loves to eat!! He's adjusted very well to living with us, and loves to sleep in our closet on a big Missouri
sweatshirt. He's also pretty good about letting us know when he has to go outside, and has started to learn some tricks. He's made friends
with a few dogs in the neighborhood, and loves to go on walks.
He's honestly the sweetest puppy. He will always come over and cuddle up to you or give you lots of kisses. I couldn't believe that he was
going to be put down. I'm so thankful for this website because we were able to save our little guy.

In early February we adopted KW6725, now better know as Buddy, from the King William Veterinary Clinic/Pound. He came to us as a tired, hungry, wary and weary puppy, but has
blossomed into a loving, confident, wonderful family pet. He has thrived with our family and is loved by us all, including family friends and neighbors. We already had
another dog - Evie, a boxer/pit mix - and they have become good friends who love to chase, play in the yard and nap together.

I drove four hours from PA to Hartford, CT yesterday to rescue "Dog #416," now renamed Sundae.
She was listed as a pit bull terrier mix, but I'm pretty sure she's a purebred Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I gave her a bath and
we're slowly integrating her into our family. She'll be spayed and her shots will be updated beginnning next week!
As soon as I can get my camera software to function properly, I'll send you an updated pic!

Missy was scheduled to be euthanized March 21. I rescued her and consequently found her a wonderful home near Los Angeles with a family who had Love at first sight when they saw her.
We have spoken and emailed since she left my home and she is doing very well with their two dogs. I am so thankful I rescued this sweet little girl. We had already rescued Barney who is
happily living with us from the same shelter.

Hi my name is Jennifer and I adopted my dog Lia from dogsindanger.com. My boyfriend and I were looking for a companion dog for our husky puppy. I had first
heard of your website from Good Morning America. When I searched shelters in my state, I saw a picture of Lia, a 1 year old husky/lab mix and she had only 2 days left to live!
I called up the shelter and they held her over for 3 days until I could get there. My boyfriend and I drove almost 2 hours to a very small town called Mount Carroll.
(We live in the larger city of Rockford, Illinois).
We met Lia, and although she was much larger than we had anticipated, and much larger than our other puppy,
we introduced they two dogs and they instantly started playing together. There was no way we could say no to Lia!! We took her home only to find out she was not
housebroken and did not know any basic commands. She was also extremely skittish, I personally think she was beaten by her previous owners. She is especially afraid of
men we have noticed. But I have had her now for 2 months and we just love her to death.
She is a quick learner, already housebroken and we have taught her to sit. My friends
and family have noticed a huge difference in her as well, she is not near as skittish as when we first got her, she is definatly learning to trust humans!! She and our other husky are
just the best of friends they play so well together, and Lia even gets along with my cats! She is such a sweet natured dog. Very cuddly and excellent with children and other animals.
We could not ask for more and it is so rewarding to know that we saved her life!
The shelter and town that we got her from was so small that I am sure she would have been put down if it was not for dogsindanger! So thank you very much for everything that
you are doing to help mans best friend! I will always adopt my animals from shelters from now on!
I have also spread the word about adopting animals and my story has touched many of my friends and family. Thank you again dogsindanger!

We fostered Roxie (her former name was Rocky) from the Visalia area Tulare humane society in February after our beloved Sophie lost her short and courageous battle
with cancer and poly-arthritis. We found Roxie via your web services. We don’t know much about her except that she was surrendered in January after getting in trouble
for chasing cows. Go figure. She is a happy but shy girl adapting to her new home. My husband and I will adopt our new special friend. We are confident that she will
recover from heartworm with the outstanding support we get from our Los Gatos vet – Liz.

My name is Dusty and I was rescued from Tulare Animal Shelter in Visalia, CA. I am an Australian Shepard mix,
I lived at the shelter since 11-07, but as good luck happens, my new family adopted me on 1-19-08 and I came home
to a huge back yard and new brother and a sister, my brother didnt like to share much as you can understand he has
had a home there sine he was a puppy and is now 5 yrs old, but my sister is older and she didn't care much,
she was just happy about everything.
My new parents saw me on the dogsindanger site and just knew I was going to be a great pet.
And of course you know I am. I now live in Lancaster, CA. My mom is a volunteer for the Lancaster Animal Shelter
and loves animals alot, of course she picked me. I am the happiest dog ever.

I finally got my son to take some pictures of Champ. We love him so much and he returns his love back.
He enjoys just lounging around the house and being friendly to everyone that comes over. I love the walks that we take, gets me out of the house and gives him lots of exercise.
We'll be getting his microchip activated this week ( haven't had the time, the Holidays you know)... He does let out a bark when someone comes around the front that he doesn't know.
Other than that he's been great.
Again thank you so much for giving us a dog who is so great and lovable.
